Playgroup | Yummy Food and Healthy Fruits
June was a delicious month filled with fascinating foods and fantastic fruits!

To gain a better understanding of different foods and to provide real-life application, playgroup students learned about the supermarket and the kitchen. They did an amazing job matching various toy fruits to fruit flashcards. Some of our playgroup students can repeat certain vocabularies and even tell me if they like to eat certain fruits or if they don’t. To improve fine motor skills, students enjoyed a range of food themed playdough mats and used their imaginative skills to make their own food.
為了更好地了解不同的食物並提供實際應用，遊戲小組的學生了解了超市和廚房。他們做了一項了不起的工作，將各種玩具水果與水果抽認卡相匹配。我們一些遊戲小組學生可以重複讀出部分詞彙，甚至可以告訴我他們是否喜歡吃相關的水果。為了提高精細運動技能，學生們非常享受用泥膠製發揮他們的想像力來製作自己的食物的活動。
We had so much fun learning about fruit through exploring their different colours and sizes. Students developed their expressive arts and design skills by sponge painting on shopping carts, painting apples and lemons and creating their own tomato sauce in our saucepan.

Our sensory bins were filled with popcorn kernels, seeds and colourful rice to explore sensory food play. Children and caregivers also enjoyed using kitchen items like flour, corn-starch and water to make gooey slime, which they can also make at home too!

The children thrive during movement activities and we have been delighted to see the development in their gross motor skills. They were encouraged to explore different activities independently, including running, throwing, catching, kicking, and spinning. They also enjoyed moving and singing along with the Run Stop song.

Playgroup students continued to enjoy being creative with this month’s topic-based artwork. We used new textures and materials like sequins, string and tissue rolls. One of our favourite artworks was the delicious spaghetti and the juicy grapes.
