K3 | Rainforest — Mills International Preschool 苗士國際幼稚園

After a well-earned Easter break, the K3 class returned to start a new topic of study in April, the Rainforest. This theme has allowed us to explore vibrant jungles and forests across the world. We have studied where rainforests can be found and what conditions are needed for them to exist. We have also looked at the intense vegetation of rainforests and the layers within them.

經過精心籌劃的複活節假期後，高班的孩子又回到了4月份的學習，我們開始了新的主題「熱帶雨林」的學習。這個主題使我們能夠探索世界各地充滿活力的叢林和森林。我們研究了在哪裡可以找到雨林以及需要哪些條件。我們還研究了熱帶雨林的茂密植被及其中的層。

As part of this topic, we have been concentrating on our understanding of geography; learning about the 7 continents and the countries within them. The students have also learnt about the equator and how the climate varies depending on location. They have really enjoyed understanding the animal and plant world on a global scale.

作為熱帶雨林主題的一部分，我們一直專注於對地理的了解，了解7大洲及其包括的國家。學生們還了解了赤道以及氣候如何隨位置而變化。他們非常喜歡在全球範圍內了解動植物世界。

K3 has shown very impressive progress in their multiplication knowledge. We have continued our practise of multiplying using visual guides and collectively their understanding has been very pleasing. They are also continuing to gain more and more confidence in addition and subtraction.

We also celebrated Book Week this month, and the K3 students explored the wonderful stories of Mr. Men and Little Miss. Throughout the week, we read a number of books, both individually and as a class. The K3 students even ventured to the Pre-Nursery and K1 classrooms to read to the younger students, and they did a fantastic job!

4月，我們苗士幼稚園也慶祝了讀書周，今年的主題是《奇先生和妙姐》的故事書。在整個星期中，我們讀了很多書，有讀書課堂和單獨閱讀時間。高班的學生甚至冒險去學前幼兒班和幼兒班教室給年幼的孩子們讀書，他們做得很好！

Welcome to Term 3, our final term of this academic year. The theme for this month is Rainforests, and K3 students have been exploring various animals that live there. They shared with each other the animals they are interested in and turned that into a book page.

復活節假期過後，高班孩子們進入了幼稚園最後一個學期的學習。孩子們在聽課時更投入更專注，在演講時更自信更清晰，在書寫功課時也更認真更細緻。

高班孩子們目前學習的主題是「熱帶雨林」。在觀看「雨林」短片的過程中，雨林裏的各種動物激發了大家學習的興趣，於是在老師的協助下，孩子們輪流在班上分享自己感興趣的動物，並將同伴們分享的知識製作成書頁。

During Book Week, K3 students had an opportunity to read to the younger learners and played interactive games related to the stories. They had fun being little teachers and we hope that they continue to develop that passion to explore and learn.

在「圖書週」裏，高班的哥哥姊姊進到低齡班的教室裏給弟弟妹妹們講《奇先生與妙小姐》的叢書故事，還和弟弟妹妹們玩了與「書」有關的互動遊戲。在這些活動中，高班孩子們體驗了做「小老師」的樂趣。希望高班的孩子們在這個學期裏再接再厲，繼續保持探索、學習的興趣和熱情。
