K1 | Transportation — Mills International Preschool 苗士國際幼稚園

We’ve had an entertaining month in K1 as we explore another topic of study, Transportation. We have been learning lots about the different transport that we can take on land, in the air and at sea! Our learners showed a keen interest in the public transport we see in Hong Kong. They love singing along to the MTR song; it has a fun, catchy tune with the names of the different MTR stations. During art time, we created our own MTR trains by painting with cars instead of paintbrushes!

我們K1的小朋友度過了一個充滿樂趣的四月份，開始了有關交通工具的新主題。我們已經學到了很多關於陸地，空中和海上的交通工具的知識！孩子們對他們熟悉的香港公共交通工具特別感興趣。他們喜歡嘗試一邊唱歌一邊聽有關不同地鐵站名稱的有趣動聽的MTR歌曲。在藝術課上，我們通過用汽車塗鴉火車的各個部分來創建自己的地鐵火車！孩子們發現這項活動特別有趣，可以在藝術品中使用玩具並創造出外觀獨特的車輛。

The children are making progress as we continue Show and Tell. Some students have brought in their transportation toys from home to present. Not only does Show and Tell build important presentation and public speaking skills, it also develops listening skills in the audience. The students have been learning how to ask questions and how to show support and encouragement to those who are presenting.

隨著我們繼續進行“表演與講述”課程，孩子們正在取得進步。有些孩子從家帶來了交通工具的玩具來跟朋友們分享。我們不僅在為演講者練習演講技巧，而且還在為聽眾小朋友們練習聽力。孩子們一直在學習如何提出問題，甚至向那些參加演講活動的人表示支持和鼓勵。

The K1 students thoroughly enjoyed Book Week and have their own favourite characters from the Mr Men and Little Miss book series. We’ve heard lots of giggles during story time, especially when the K3 students came to read to our class! The children had the chance to create their own costumes by selecting their own character and using their imaginations to freely paint their character of any shape and size. We proudly put these on as our class costume during our dress-up day!

K1的學生喜歡讀書周的主題，並擁有自己的《奇先生和妙小姐》圖書系列中最喜歡的角色。在講故事的過程中，我們聽到了很多咯咯笑聲，尤其是當高班的學生來分享故事的時候！孩子們有機會通過選擇自己的角色並利用自己的想像力自由繪製任何形狀和大小的角色來製作自己的服裝。在裝扮角色的日子裡，我們很自豪地將它們作為班級服裝一起展示給大家！

K1 students began Term 3 with a new theme, Transportation. They learnt about different kinds of vehicle such as garbage trucks, police cars, fire trucks and private cars through music and singing. The students role-played a driver to understand the structure of a car. During PE lesson, they had an exciting bicycle race in the Star Room!

快樂的日子總是過得很快，不知不覺我們又迎接來了幼兒班的最後一個學期。孩子們很快地投入到了交通工具的學習中。孩子們一起通過學習《我是一輛車》的兒歌，學習了垃圾車、警察車、消防車、小汽車等陸地上的交通工具！孩子們還一起通過模擬司機的遊戲，認識了汽車的結構和性能。在體能課上，孩子們還在星星房裏進行了一次精彩的自行車比賽呢！

During Book Week, K1 students read the series of Mr Men and Little Miss, identified different characters and their personalities, and created their favourite character using coloured blocks.

來到讀書週我們一起通過故事了解了奇先生妙小姐這些可愛角色的性格特點，並通過美勞活動和團隊創作活動把自己最喜歡的角色用畫筆、用積木創作出來，通過這些創意十足的活動我們激發了孩子們閱讀的興趣。度過了非常愉快的閱讀週。
