K3

This month we began our new theme, Switch on the Light. The students showed a great understanding of the topic as we explored the world of light, electronics, and energy. We learnt about several different light sources and differentiated them by natural and man-made light sources. The students participated in excellent discussions about what powers our lights and the need for renewable power sources.

本月，我們開始了新主題「開燈」。當我們探索光、電子和能源的世界時，學生們對該主題有了很好的理解。我們了解了幾種不同的光源，並分辨自然光和人造光。學生們積極討論了「是什麼為我們的燈供電？」以及對可再生能源的需求等議題。

As the class continues to impress with the weekly spelling tests, we have dedicated more time to practise constructing and writing full sentences in our literacy books. Each student is gaining more confidence in their ability to create their own written sentences and their growing proficiency in spelling only serves to aid them further.

隨著孩子們每週的拼寫測試的進步，我們投放更多時間讓孩子們在句子本上練習書寫完整的句子。每個學生對自己創建的句子越來越有信心，而他們在拼寫方面的熟練程度的提高也為他們將來書寫更複雜的句子製造了條件。

We developed our numeracy and mathematics skills by creating clocks to help us tell the time. The students used their clocks as a guide and worked through various activities to understand time. We also introduced the basics of multiplication. First, by further practising our number bonds and then using visual representations to help the difficult first steps of understanding times tables.

我們通過製作時鐘來幫助我們說出時間，從而發展了計算和數學技能。學生們以自己的時鐘為指南，並通過各種活動來了解時間。我們還介紹了乘法的基礎知識。首先，通過進一步練習我們的數字鍵，然後使用視覺來幫助理解乘數表。

Our K3 class thrived during our outdoor, team-building PE exercises. We were also lucky enough to encounter representatives from the Environmental Protection Department and the students were able to learn about the importance of recycling and help recycle various materials.

我們的K3課堂在我們的戶外、團隊活動中表現出色。我們也很幸運地遇到了環境保護署的代表，學生們能夠了解到回收的重要性並幫助回收了各種材料。

We have had a great month on campus in March and we finished it off with a lovely Easter party and some special performances for parents. I wish everyone a wonderful Easter break and look forward to seeing everyone again in April!

March has been an electrifying month for the K3 students as they focused on the theme Switch on the Light. Before starting the topic, the students were asked to design and decorate our themed wall and they came up with the idea of camping. This idea then led to the discussion of natural and artificial lights that would be seen during camping.

高班的孩子們在三月學習與「光」相關的知識。在展開主題學習前，老師和孩子們商討如何設計主題牆，孩子們提出了「露營」主題牆的想法，於是老師順應孩子們的興趣，引出了露營中會看見的自然光源和人造光源，由此展開了對「光」的探究學習。

Students went outside to observe their shadows and count the shapes and quantities of streetlights. They conducted fun experiments using a lemon and potato to test the electricity whilst also developing teamwork.

在主題學習過程中，孩子們和老師們一起到戶外運動場玩捉影子的遊戲，瞭解影子形成的原因；在學習「電燈」時，我們到學校周邊的公園觀察路燈的形狀和數量。最後在學習電路知識的時候，我們還使用了檸檬和馬鈴薯進行電力實驗。在實驗中孩子們體驗了動手操作與團隊合作的樂趣。

Apart from the topic of study, K3 students planted some strawberry and mint seeds at school. They watered the plants every day and observed their growth over time. Also, they worked well together to perform a short drama during the Easter celebration.

在學習主題內容的同時，高班的孩子們還進行了「種植」的拓展活動，孩子們自己撒下了花朵、草莓和薄荷的種子，每天給種子澆水，觀察植物的生長，感受春天帶來的生命力。同時，為了在復活節派對上給同伴們表演小話劇，高班的孩子們每天都認真地練習呢！老師非常欣賞他們的團隊合作精神！
