K1

The K1 children have had an exciting month exploring the wonderful world of dinosaurs! It’s been refreshing for the children to have an opportunity to share their own knowledge about their favourite dinosaurs and to further build on this shared interest. They have been so excited to present their objects from home for their show and tell sessions. One of our students even created her own colourful stegosaurus fossil with the help of her dad. Others brought in toys and other DIY homemade projects.

K1 的孩子們度過了激動人心的一個月,探索奇妙的恐龍世界!孩子們分享他們對他們最喜歡的恐龍的知識並進一步建立這種共同的興趣,這令人耳目一新。他們非常興奮能在學校展示他們從家裡帶來的物品用於他們的表演並講述活動。我們的一位學生甚至在她父親的幫助下創造了她自己的彩色劍龍化石!其他人帶來了玩具和其他 DIY 自製作品! 

We’ve made fossils with dinosaur bones and footprints for us to role play as palaeontologists and discussed which footprint could belong to which dinosaur. During one of our discussions about dinosaurs that are carnivores, herbivores and omnivores, one curious student asked, ‘are humans omnivores too?’. We have also role-played as dinosaurs ourselves using our own creations of tails, feet and faces to sing, dance and stomp like dinosaurs! One of the topics the children found most intriguing was the different theories behind the extinction of dinosaurs. We further expanded on this by looking at other animals that are extinct or at risk. The K1 class also had an opportunity to think about the question - do you want dinosaurs to come back? After conducting a survey, we found that half of the class wanted them to come back because of how much they love them, but the other half of the class understood the dangers of having dinosaurs live amongst humans. One of our students thoughtfully shared that ‘I don’t want the dinosaurs to eat my friends’.

孩子們發現有趣的話題之一是恐龍滅絕背後的理論。我們進一步將其與其他已經滅絕的動物聯繫起來,以及他們最喜歡的一些動物如何瀕臨滅絕並面臨滅絕的風險。全班也有機會思考這個問題——“你想讓恐龍回來嗎?”。調查後,我們發現一半的班級希望他們回來是因為他們有多愛他們,但班級的另一半了解讓恐龍生活在人類中的危險,正如我們的一位學生所說,“我不想讓恐龍吃掉我的朋友”。 

K1 students also had the chance to show their appreciation for those most important to them. They thanked their aunties for everything that they do by creating lovely cards for them and we celebrated Father’s Day by making fabulous cards to show their love dads.

一些孩子也有機會對工人姐姐所做的一切表示感謝,並為她們製作了可愛的卡片!當然,每個人都有機會製作精美的父親節賀卡,以表達他們對父親的愛!

This year has come to an end so quickly!

熱情如火的夏日迎來了孩子們在本學年的最後幼兒班的學習生活!

K1 students have been celebrating Dragon Boat Festival through storytelling, singing, and competing in a dragon boat competition.

我們迎來了每年一度的中國傳統節日-農曆五月初五的端午節!孩子們和老師一起聽故事、學兒歌、認識中國的傳統文化,並一起玩「賽龍舟」的遊戲。

The children have had a lot of fun exploring the world of dinosaurs. They have walked in the dinosaur fashion show, with their own dinosaur feet, tails and masks. During music and movement, they have enjoyed listening to dinosaur sounds and pretending to be these creatures, by stomping around in time to the musical rhythm. I was very impressed with the children’s hard work; they showed their creativity and team spirit through different activities, including dinosaur building competition with building blocks.

在這個月份,我們繼續和孩子們在恐龍的世界裏盡情狂歡,激動好玩的恐龍時裝秀讓孩子從穿恐龍「鞋套」開始,戴上尾巴和面罩,就變身成為各種可愛的「恐龍」,「恐龍」們學會了擺各種姿勢,一起結伴「遊沙灘」……通過孩子們最感興趣的恐龍角色扮演活動,不但學習了自己穿恐龍鞋套,還在音樂律動中提升了孩子的聆聽能力,大小肌肉的發展,並豐富了孩子的想象力,我深深地為孩子們的努力成長而感動。他們還通過用積木分組搭建恐龍比賽的活動,展現了他們的創意和團隊精神。

Towards the end of this term, the students reviewed previous topics such as days, weeks, months, colours, and shapes through different games and activities. We wish them success and joy in their continued learning. Happy holidays!

在學期即將結束之際,我們也通過各種遊戲活動讓孩子溫習了日期、星期、月份、顏色、形狀等,期待他們能更好地裝備自己,順利地進入下個階段的學習!在此,也祝願孩子們渡過愉快、平安的暑假!
