K2 | I Can Move + Graduation — Mills International Preschool 苗士國際幼稚園

Our academic year draws to a close, and we could not be prouder of this K2 class. We had a busy final month preparing for graduation, completing Progress Record’s and topic-based assessments, celebrating Dragon Boat Festival, Helper Appreciation Month and Father’s Day, all while preparing for the big move to K3 or Primary School! The K2 children’s energy never wavered, and they continued to approach each and every day with joy and eagerness to learn.

我們的學年即將結束，我們為今年的畢業生感到無比自豪。最後一個月我們忙著準備畢業典禮，完成成長記錄和主題評估，慶祝端午節，同時為升讀 K3 或小學做準備。 K2孩子們的能量總是滿滿地，他們每天都帶著喜悅和學習的渴望成長。

We wrapped up our I Can Move topic with an exploration of the Winter Olympics and the Paralympics. It was wonderful to see how much compassion and understanding the young students approached the topic. They appreciated that disability is not inability and saw the differently abled athletes as superheroes. With kindness and interest, the students discussed different disabilities, the core values behind the Paralympics and why it is important we celebrate these athletes. They also enjoyed playing sports we can see in the different Olympics, like figure skating, goalball and sitting volleyball.

我們通過對殘奧會的探索結束了“我會動”的主題。很高興看到學生們對這個話題表示同情和理解。他們意識到殘疾不是無能，有些學生甚至將運動員視為超級英雄！帶著善意和同情心，學生們討論了不同的殘疾人運動會、殘奧會背後的核心價值觀以及為什麼我們舉行這些運動會對運動員的重要性。帶著尊重的幽默感，我們探索了殘疾人的生活，並進行了門球和坐式排球等運動的體驗。

After the various assessments to evaluate each child’s learning in all seven areas of development, we have been delighted with the progress that has been made this year. Across all areas, each individual has shown knowledge, skills and enthusiasm. We have seen great achievements and advancements in literacy and numeracy, and we are confident that each student has the building blocks to progress well next year.

在對每個孩子在所有七個發展領域的學習進行了各種評估之後，我們對今年取得的進展感到高興。在所有領域，每個人都表現出知識、技能和態度上的熱情。特別在識字和算術方面取得了巨大的成就和進步，我們相信每個學生都有明年取得良好進步的基石。

The graduation ceremony was a special day of celebration, excitement and of course, emotion! The K2 students worked very hard to prepare and performed beautifully on the day. We are sure that everyone that attended will agree that it was truly a day to remember.

畢業典禮是一個特別的日子，慶祝、興奮，當然還有情感！ K2的同學們非常努力地準備，當天的表演也很精彩。我們相信參加過的每個人都會同意這確實是值得紀念的一天。

We are so grateful for this wonderful K2 class. The friendships and memories made will be forever lasting. We wish all those that are leaving the very best of luck in their new schools and we are very excited for those staying for K3 to return after summer. Each and every one of you will continue to shine and bring kindness, compassion and laughter to the classroom.

我們非常感謝低班的孩子帶給我們的精彩。所建立的友誼和回憶將永遠持久。我們祝願所有即將離開新學校的人好運，我們也為那些留在 K3 的人在暑假後重返校園感到非常興奮。你們中的每一個人都將繼續閃耀，為課堂帶來善意、同情和歡笑。

MANDARIN

Time has flown by and K2 students have successfully reached the end of the school year at Mills.

時光飛逝，歲月如梭！轉眼間，低班的孩子在陽光明媚的六月，迎來了他們激動人心的畢業大日子。

It has been a year filled with challenges, but the resilience shown by the amazing K2 students has been astonishing. I am so touched by their enthusiasm in learning Mandarin, and the great improvements they have made in listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as social skills. They have been helping more in class and tell me that ‘Chinese characters are so interesting! I would love to learn more’. They have been responding well in the Mandarin activities and treasuring precious moments with their peers. They had such a lovely Graduation Ceremony, and we would like to thank them for working so hard during the rehearsals. Our students are like shining stars; each of them is unique, with their own talents and skills. I hope that the K2 students will be refreshed for the next chapter of learning after the holidays.

2021年是十分特殊的一年，在這一年畢業的孩子經歷了大大小小不同的挑戰，包括新冠病毒！在這期間，家長們一如既往地對我們幼稚園表現出支持和信任，孩子們雖然經歷了停課、網課、但卻比以往畢業的孩子更加珍惜在學校裏的一切！他們努力、上進、充滿童真和自信給老師留下了深刻的印象。在課堂上，他們學習普通話的熱情深深地感動了我，不管聽說讀寫能力，還是情緒社交能力都有了極大的進步！他們會主動地幫助老師做班務，會跟我說：「我喜歡中文，中文字太有趣了！」！他們表現出對學習普通話的興趣和自信；在識字活動中盡情搶答；他們珍惜和同伴的相處時光，常常互相幫助，彼此關懷；在畢業的舞台上，他們精彩的表演，讓我特別感動，我知道昔日的孩子已經悄悄長大，他們學會了思考，也懂得如何解決學習生活中的困難，我相信他們每一個孩子都將會成為最好的自己，成為老師、父母心中最亮的那一束光，在此，我祝福所有的孩子們在新的學習里程：百尺竿頭，更進一步！
