K2 | People and the Past

K2

The K2 students have been diving into history to learn about the lives of cave people through our topic People and the Past. We explored how our ancestors lived, the clothes they wore, what they ate and the homes they lived in. By studying the past, the students develop a deeper appreciation for the way we live now.

低班的小朋友一直在深入研究歷史,通過我們的主題“人與過去”了解了洞穴人類的生活。我們探索了祖先的生活,他們的衣服,飲食和居住的房屋。通過研究過去,學生對我們現在的生活方式有了更深刻的了解。

We explored the unique and wonderful characters of the Mr. Men and Little Miss world during Book Week. The students related to the different personalities and emotions that we explored and enjoyed sharing their views on the importance of friendship. It was lovely to hear how much they value the meaningful relationships they have formed with their classmates this year. The students also showed a great respect for books by helping in our book hospital and by participating in our book pledge. We hope that this celebration instils a love of reading and storytelling in our learners.

在讀書周期間,我們探索了《奇先生和妙小姐》世界的獨特而奇妙的人物。孩子們與我們探索並享受的不同個性和情感有關,並分享了他們對友誼的重要看法。很高興聽到他們對自己今年與同學建立的友誼有很多的感受。通過在我們的圖書醫院提供幫助並參加我們的閱讀的承諾,孩子們也學會珍惜圖書。我們希望這次慶祝活動能激發孩子們對閱讀和講故事的熱愛。

We have now learnt how to pronounce, read, write, spell and differentiate all 44 English phonics sounds. I am immensely impressed with how well the class has progressed and we are now moving towards more complex reading activities. It is a joy to see them grow in confidence as they tackle the challenges of literacy. As a class, they don’t shy away from learning and always try their best!

現在,我們已經學會瞭如何發音,閱讀,書寫,拼寫和區分所有44種英文發音。我對班級進展情況印象深刻,我們現在正朝著更複雜的閱讀活動邁進。看到他們在應對識字挑戰時充滿信心,這是一件令人高興的事情。在課堂上,他們不會逃避學習,並且會盡力而為!

We look forward to our last few months together with this special K2 class.

MANDARIN

K2 focused on People and the Past in April. They have compared and contrasted modern life with Stone Age housing, tools and food.

時間飛逝,復活假期過後,我們又進入了第三學期的學習。很開心見到孩子們都有了很好的成長和進步。

在《過去的人》這個主題單元當中,我們通過故事和扮演活動認識了新石器時代和舊石器時代的不同,從居住型態、使用工具和食物來源這幾個方面去比較了兩個時代的不同。孩子們在活動中能夠體驗在原始社會跟現代生活的不同。 

During Book Week, they have been discussing different characters in Mr Men and Little Miss and learning to speak the sentence ‘my favourite character is…’. They wrote the characters when learning the vocabulary ‘Mr’.

而在《讀書週》我們一起探討了奇先生和妙小姐中每一個可愛角色。孩子們還各自選擇了自己喜歡的角色,在主題時間和功課時間進行句式練習、繪畫創作和團隊拼角色火。通過活動,孩子們除了能夠盡情的發揮想像和團隊精神,而且還能用:我最喜歡的角色是……(角色名稱)進行造句;並能在書寫「生」字的基礎上繪畫xxx先生等角色,從而理解「先生」的含義。

Following this, K2 learnt about the Four Treasures of the Study - the writing brush, ink stick, ink stone, and paper. The children were excited to write with a brush and realised the difference between writing with brush and pencil. They also learnt an ancient poem The Pity Peasant in order to experience the profoundness of Chinese culture and the beauty of the rhythm of ancient poems.

接下來:我們學習了文房四寶,通過學習筆、墨、紙、硯,認識了中國文化和文字的優美,孩子們還雀躍地嘗試用毛筆書寫,體會了書寫毛筆字和鉛筆字的不同。並學習了《憫農》這首詩歌,一起感受了中國文化的博大精深和古詩的韻律之美。
