K2

We have had a lively month in K2 as we have been experimenting and discovering the Magic of Science. We explored the science of colours, magnets, different states of matter and chain reactions.

我們一直在嘗試和發現《科學魔力》,在K2度過了一個熱鬧的月份。我們探索了顏色、磁鐵、物質的不同狀態和連鎖反應的科學。

The students thrived as we channelled their natural inquisitiveness and enthusiasm into projects that developed their skills in planning, problem solving and resourcefulness. Their innate curiosity helped the children acquire new ways of asking questions and understanding the world. Take a look at some of the wonderful creations and experiments! We definitely have some future scientists in our midst.

當我們將他們自然的好奇心和熱情引導到發展他們的計劃、解決問題和機智能力的項目中時,學生們發展迅速。孩子們與生俱來的好奇心幫助他們獲得了提出問題和了解世界的新方式。看看一些精彩的創作和實驗!我們之間肯定會有一些未來的科學家。

It has been fantastic to see the students play their ukulele’s again. They are developing their musical talents with Teacher Eric each week and it is great to see them all so eager to learn their musical instruments.

看到學生們再次演奏自己的夏威夷小結他,真是太棒了。他們每週都會與Eric老師一起發展他們的音樂才能,很高興看到他們都如此熱情地學習樂器。

After the period of online learning, it has been crucial for the K2 students to have lots of opportunities to get up and get moving! We continue to develop gross motor skills like static and dynamic balance, overarm and underarm throwing and running, jumping and hopping.

經過一段時間的在線學習之後,對於K2學生來說,獲得大量鍛鍊機會至關重要!我們將繼續發展孩子們大肌肉技能,例如:靜態和動態平衡、上臂和下臂的投擲和奔跑、單腳跳躍和雙腳跳等。

We ended Term 2 with a wonderful Easter celebration! The students performed beautifully and participated well in our activities. It was a pleasure to welcome families and friends back on campus too.

我們在第二學期舉行了精彩的復活節慶祝活動!學生們表現出色,並積極參加各項活動。對於家人和朋友回到校園我感到十分開心。

MANDARIN

The K2 theme for March was The Magic of Science so the students were exploring the topics of colours, magnets, water, and chain reactions. For colour science, students learnt about various colour concepts such as primary colours, secondary colours, complementary colours, cool colours, warm colours etc.

低班的孩子在《神奇的科學》這個主題單元中,一起通過繪本故事、實驗活動和討論活動分別探討了「顏色」、「磁鐵」、「水」、「連鎖反應」等科學知識,孩子們通過《彩色摩天輪》和各種實驗活動認識了原色、間色、對比色以及暖色和冷色的概念,並以此拉開了探索科學的帷幕。

The second science topic was magnets. Students understood that a magnet has a north pole and a south pole. Then, they designed a fishing game and did a fun magnet race car experiment to study the characteristics of magnets.

接著,我們通過磁鐵同極相斥,異極相吸的特點,設計了釣魚遊戲、汽車遊戲、也通過不同的材料去探究了磁鐵的不同特性。

The third science topic was water. Students learnt about the water cycle, the use of water, and the different states of matter.

而在「水」的單元中,我們通過《小水滴旅行記》認識了水的循環,水在生活中的運用,以及水的三態。

They also learnt about the concept of floating and sinking through experiments.

我們也通過實驗初步認識了「浮沉」的概念,並且在「不會漏水的袋子」的實驗中,認識了大氣壓強的神奇效果;我們還結合生活經驗認識了珍惜水資源的重要性呢!

Finally, we explored chain reactions. Students showed great enthusiasm for learning about chain reactions and they discussed where we can see it in daily life.

而在「連鎖反應」的教學內容中,孩子們對「骨牌效應」特別感興趣,並通過反覆的實驗體驗其中的奧妙,並能一起討論「骨牌效應」在生活中的應用。

The Magic of Science theme stimulated students’ curiosity and imagination, while the Easter celebration was full of fun and laughter. We look forward to exploring new topics after the holidays.

「神奇的科學」這一個主題單元,激發了孩子的好奇心和想像力,而復活節活動也讓孩子們在歡聲笑語中迎來了春天,期待復活節假期後和孩子們一起繼續展開「過去的人」這個主題單元的學習。
